Mental healthMental Health and Emotional Wellbeing

We want to deliver the right care, at the right time, in the right place for people with mental health and emotional wellbeing needs living in Coventry and Warwickshire.

Our focus will be on prevention, earlier intervention and supporting people in their own self-care, wellbeing and recovery.

What do we want to do?

  • Deliver an all-age mental health system that is underpinned by prevention, building resilience, early intervention, recovery and self-care in the places people live and work.
  • Build capacity in primary care to deliver better outcomes and support recovery for people with mental health conditions.
  • Aim for no patients to travel out of Coventry and Warwickshire for treatment for acute mental health crisis.
  • Ensure we have a highly-skilled, confident workforce.

What have we done so far?

We have been holding sessions with patient and carer groups to find out about their experience of current services and what they think should be improved. This insight will be used to inform future services.

The Coventry and Warwickshire area has received £350,000 from the Department for Health and Social Care, Public Health England (PHE) and NHS England for suicide prevention.

The funding will help to target men in their local communities, tackling stigma and isolation, improving support around employment and housing, and ensuring there are safe drop-in places. You can read more the funding here.
